Rick Cunningham

Shihan Rick Cunningham has been training in Kyokushin Karate for 35 years. He began teaching in 1986 and has taught at many seminars and camps around Australia. Shihan Cunningham has competed in local, state, national and international tournaments, and in 1988 represented Australia.

In 1993 Shihan Cunningham travelled to Japan with Shihan Lipman and received his Sandan (3rd Dan) from Sosai Mas Oyama. In 2000 he was graded to Yondan (4th Dan) by Shihan Lipman and in 2001 completed the 50 man kumite.

In 2006 Shihan Cunningham was promoted to Godan (5th Dan) and in 2010 to Rokudan (6th Dan) by Shihan Lipman.

Peter Olive

Sensei Peter Olive began his training at the Honbu Dojo in Japan. On his return to Australia Sensei Olive continued his instruction under Shihan Cunningham and shortly after this was graded Shodan (1st Dan). In 2003 Peter was graded to Nidan (2nd Dan) by Shihan Lipman and in 2006 was promoted to Sandan (3rd Dan) .

Peter has been teaching with Shihan Cunningham for a number of years and is a widely regarded instructor. In 2008, Sensei Olive was appointed the Technical Director for KIMMA

In 2010 Sensei Peter received his Yondan (4th Dan) by Shihan Lipman.
